Urinary incontinence can be a debilitating condition for men or women who have weakened pelvic floor muscles. Do you sometimes leak urine when you sneeze or cough or engage in physical activities? Are you always having to run to the restroom? You’re not alone. Over 200 million people are dealing with urinary incontinence or an overactive bladder. These problems can diminish the quality of life and greatly impact your self-confidence.
What is Emsella?
Urinary concerns indicate your pelvic muscles have reached a state where they need to be rebuilt and strengthened. Emsella is a safe, FDA-approved treatment designed to treat urinary incontinence, an overactive bladder, or for women, vaginal laxity. If you’re tired of dealing with these problems, Emsella may be the ideal treatment for you.
Emsella is a completely non-invasive chair device designed to strengthen the pelvic floor. The Emsella chair emits a high-intensity electromagnetic field that triggers motor neurons in the pelvic floor. This repairs and greatly strengthens the muscles of the pelvic floor.
The Emsella treatment takes about 30 minutes. The sensation is not uncomfortable, and you can remain fully clothed during your Emsella experience.

How Does the Emsella Treatment Work?
The Emsella treatment is designed to help you strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. You may have tried Kegel exercises to achieve this on your own, but progress can be quite slow. Once the muscles in the pelvic floor are weakened, especially after prostate surgery or vaginal childbirth, it can be very difficult to strengthen them.
Emsella stimulates the deep muscles of the pelvic floor using high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology (HIFEM). An Emsella treatment is the equivalent of about 12,000 Kegel exercises. The strengthened muscles restore neuromuscular control, which dramatically decreases urine leakage, the constant urge to use the bathroom, and vaginal laxity.
The Emsella treatment is not painful, but you will feel mild contractions at a fast pace. You will be comfortable enough to read a book or look through your phone. Because Emsella is non-invasive and gentle, once your treatment is complete you can continue on with your day as you normally would.

What Causes Urinary Incontinence?
Prostate cancer, menopause, obesity, and childbirth are all causes of urinary incontinence. These conditions can weaken the pelvic floor muscles, causing them to not support the pelvic area's organs. What follows is urinary incontinence. Emsella strengthens the pelvic floor muscles and allows your pelvic organs to be supported, leading to better bladder control and function.
You will be able to notice improved bladder control right away, but we recommend six sessions in total, done twice a week, for the best results.
Some patients choose to have a maintenance treatment about once a month to continue to strengthen their pelvic floor, but this is not required. We will discuss your condition during your consultation and help you decide on the best treatment plan to achieve your needs.
