Dermaplaning for Facial Rejuvenation

Dermaplaning is a simple and safe exfoliating procedure and produces amazing results without requiring that you deal with any significant downtime or recovery period. Those who wish to improve the look of their facial skin will benefit from our dermaplaning procedure, as it reduces the appearance of scars, wrinkles, or pre-cancerous growth. It may also be suggested for those who are scheduled to undergo laser treatment and chemical peels, as it will improve the efficacy of those procedures. Dermaplaning is only recommended for the face and is best not used on the neck and nose.

What Can Dermaplaning Do for Me?

During your consultation, Dr. Garramone and a member of his incredible aesthetics team will get to know your goals and walk you through your various options for reaching them. Pregnant or nursing women who wish to have deep exfoliation may use Dermaplaning safely without worrying about any chemicals being absorbed and affecting the fetus or child. Dermaplaning is likely perfect for you if you’re looking to address:

  • Rough, dry skin
  • Superficial hyperpigmentation
  • Mild acne scarring
  • Fine lines and wrinkles

How the Procedure Works

One of our certified Medical Estheticians will delicately graze the surface of your skin and simply shave the epidermal with light strokes, using a specialized tool for the procedure. Dermaplaning works by gently exfoliating the outer layer of your skin while also removing the fine vellus hair (commonly known as “peach fuzz”) from your face.

Removing this excess vellus hair, which can hold dirt and oils, will give your skin a healthier look without the worry that the hair will grow back heavier and darker. As long as the hair is superficial, it will grow back the same as before. This procedure also allows products to more easily penetrate your skin at deeper levels.

Your Recovery Period

After a Dermaplaning procedure there is no downtime! You’ll be able to return to your daily routine, and we’ll recommend that you use sunscreen on the treatment areas post-procedure.

You’ll be able to notice results after just one procedure, and you can repeat the procedure every two weeks, though most patients prefer to wait about a month between sessions.
