Dr. Garramone's Credentials
Medical Credentials, Memberships and Awards
With the growing popularity of plastic surgery, it is now more important than ever to confirm your plastic surgeon has the training, credentials and experience necessary to perform your cosmetic procedures.
Two of the most important to look for are the American Board of Medical Specialties and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Board Certification and Maintenance of Certification
Physicians that have achieved a medical license only have met the minimum competency requirements to diagnose and treat patients; however, this is not specialty specific.
Board Certification is a voluntary process, and one that is very different from medical licensure. Certification by an ABMS Member Board involves a rigorous process of testing and peer evaluation that is designed and administered by specialists in the specific area of medicine. Board Certification demonstrates a physician’s exceptional expertise in a particular specialty and/or subspecialty of medical practice and serve as important credentials that the specialist provides a higher standard of patient care. Patients should look for these credentials as the best measure of a physician’s knowledge, experience and skills providing quality health care within a given specialty.
The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS)
Dr. Garramone, a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, has met the stringent requirements and is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon.
