Kybella Ft. Myers

KYBELLA (formerly known as ATX-101) is the first and the only FDA-approved, prescription non-surgical treatment, used to reduce the appearance of submental fat, more commonly known as a double chin.

A double chin can makes the face look older and heavier regardless of age or weight. And, in many cases, this fat doesn’t respond to lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise because genetics is often the cause.

Because of the extremely limited options for correction, submental fat has been an under-treated aesthetic issue until now.

Many professionals in cosmetic industry consider Kybella the biggest innovation since Botox. Since FDA-approval in April 2015, Kybella fat dissolver has been revolutionizing the world’s non-surgical cosmetic treatments. Before Kybella, for those who wanted to reduce a double chin the ONLY option was to undergo liposuction – which, as a surgical procedure, is somewhat invasive and requires a few days of recovery.

How Does Kybella Work?

The active ingredient in Kybella is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.

Only trained physicians should administer Kybella. It is crucial for Kybella to be injected at the proper depth to reach the fat and to keep the upper skin layers safe. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Kybella causes the destruction of fat cells. Once eliminated, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.

How Long Will Kybella Results Last?

Kybella treatment regime is customized for each patient and based on the desired chin profile. A series of injections will be administered at each treatment session, which are spaced at least a month apart. Kybella results are cumulative as each session removes more fat.

Many patients experience visible contouring of their chin profile in two to four treatment sessions spaced at least one month apart. Up to 6 treatments may be required.

What are Side Effects of Kybella?

The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and areas of hardness around the treatment area. The patients are to be advised of all potential side effects prior to treatment.
