Ultherapy Ft. Myers
Ultherapy® is the only non-invasive FDA approved procedure to lift the skin of the brow, neck or under the chin. It uses focused ultrasound plus visualization to stimulate new collagen and elastin production. Ultherapy will non-surgically lift and tighten the skin in these areas with no downtime!
Age and environmental factors cause damage to the skin. Collagen and elastin is broken down and weakened causing signs of aging including laxity. Ultherapy is designed to penetrate the skin and tighten from the inside, unlike lasers, which work from the outside causing injury to the skin surface which results in downtime for healing and redness. The ultrasound waves produced by Ultherapy deliver energy to the deeper layers of the skin, the same structural layer that is tightened in a surgical facelift procedure. The effect is seen over 2 – 3 months after the procedure.
What to expect before Ultherapy
One of our skin care specialists will clean your skin and apply a topical cream to numb the skin. In most cases, an anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen is given along with a medication to help you relax for the duration of the procedure.
What to expect during Ultherapy
A cool gel will be applied to the skin surface to better conduct the ultrasound waves. A transducer will be applied to the skin surface to deliver the treatment. Depending on the number of areas to be treated, the procedure may take from 1 to 2 hours.
What to expect after Ultherapy
In a very few cases there may be some bruising. In most cases there may be some tenderness at the site of the treatment. There may be some temporary numbness. There is no downtime.
Most patients have just one treatment. Some patients will come in to have another area treated or to have an additional treatment after one year or so for maintenance. The effect can last as long as three years.
